Using SVN - Diffing your changes. Error 500 page
  • xoselfp October 2014
    I donĀ“t know if I'm doing something wrong or it is just not working..
    When I submit my svn diff output I'm getting an error 500 page (server error). And my answer is not passed.

    This is what I'm submitting:

    Index: README
    ===================================================================
    --- README (revision 3)
    +++ README (working copy)
    @@ -1,5 +1,5 @@
    The secret word needed to infiltrate the compound is in word.txt. You
    -also will need to be wearing a red hat. Good luck on your mision!

    Is it something wrong with my output?

    Same issue reported. Anyone got a line on this?

    I am also seeing this issue...

    Might have something to do with the data submitted being from Windows.

    I'm running:
    Windows 7
    Tortoise 1.8.10

    Output is:

    Index: README
    ===================================================================
    --- README (revision 3)
    +++ README (working copy)

    Result is Error 500 server on page https://openhatch.org/missions/svn/diff/submit#svndiff-form

    I was originally getting the error "The patch affects the wrong file." but I figured out that was a problem with copying from the console. I redirected the output to a file, opened that file in notepad++ made sure the Edit | EOL Conversion is set to Unix and pasted that in but now I'm getting the 500 error.

    Thoughts?

    I am also having the same issue. I have the same diff output as others have posted here, and I'm copying from the Terminal app in Mac OS X Yosemite.

    It also seems that I am not able to move on in this particular training until after this diff submits correctly. I am surprised this issue still exists.

    Having the same issue too!
  • Same issue.
  • Nevermind.. I wonder if it has something to do with newlines/carriage returns between linux/windows?
  • Same issue. Copying from terminal in Mountain Lion. Can't continue.
